You could almost imagine it was carved out of basalt, but no?it?s just paper. Own this book, and suddenly that IKEA flat-pack won?t seem quite so impressive. You?ll look at your plasterboard walls and think: ?A Neolithic longhouse would have been sturdier.? It?s an armchair journey into humanity?s oldest obsession: keeping dry, staying warm, and making sure the neighbours are impressed by your hut.
