Half-bound in dark leather with gold ruling and lettering to spine, and marbled paper-covered boards. 120 x 177 x 23mm. (iv) + 360pp. B/w engraved illustrations. Leather sound though darkened, both boards rubbed/scuffed, and rear board with area of damage, about 6 x 5cm, where outer surface and 2 or 3mm of the fore-edge are removed; writing on both endpapers; upper half of p.1 removed; pages grubby with occasional foxing, and tears here and there. Binding sound. Overall, a volume that certainly shows its age, but may be none the less interesting for that. NB: An extra shipping charge may be requested for heavier or more valuable items.
