An elegantly curated book of four stories by different authors with more than 300 b/w illustrations; often located within the text. The upper board and spine, with a mixture of emerald and pea green cloth, gilt titles, floral patterning etc is visually striking. (The lower board is much less decorative with a more discreet embossed pattern). Included in the four stories is The Honey-Stew of the Countess Bertha by Alexander Dumas - see image of contents page. Condition has been assessed as good and is very sound for a book of this vintage. There is some edgewear and fraying of the cloth in places; especially of the upper board's bottom right-hand corner (main image). Internally, there is mild to moderate tanning throughout; with occasional spotting. The endpapers consist of laid paper. pp. 288/8vo. More details/information on request.
