Pictorial Cover. Condition: Fair. various (illustrator). The cover has green cloth with gilt, title blocks, other words in blue and gilt, and illustrations in blue, brown, and gilt. Content: Nine stories plus a set of six stories as told by "Mrs. Grabem," a spider. Eleven plates of b/w illustrations; a few other, in-text, b/w illustrations. The bottom edge of the spine strip is frayed; the top edge is less so. About a fourth of the front board's title block has dark spots (stains?). A 1/2 in. place is faded to white on the front board (near a letter). Nearly half of the back board has sheen loss, and about an eighth of the area is mottled with faded spots and lines. The boards' front corners have 1/8 in., threadbare spots. The endpapers' folds are cracked over the hinges. The front endpaper has two chips, and a linear 1 1/4 in. is on the bottom end of the fold. The endpapers are fragile and need to be handled with care. The text block ends have darkened. The front, blank page has foxing. About 2 dz. pages have a light or dark stain(s), from 1/8 in. to one that is 2 3/4 in. x 3/4 in. on a margin. The top corners of several pages have crease lines. Scans e-mailed upon request.
