Why Eddie Murphy said he "is the only entertainer in the world I'd switch places with."
How his troubled childhood affected and motivated his career.
How he learned to play more than twenty instruments and produce his own records.
His turn-ons, turn-offs, and lovers - past and present.
The inside story behind the phenomenal success of the Purple Rain movie and soundtrack - which features the smash hit single, "When Doves Cry."
Why music and film critics have compared him to Michael Jackson, Elvis Presley, Jimi Hendrix, Sly Stone, and even Marlon Brando!
How he has influenced the careers of The Time, André Cymone, Vanity 6, and Apollonia 6.
Why he keeps an ultra-low profile, and has refused to give interviews to Rolling Stone, Time, Newsweek, Vanity Fair, Esquire, Life, and everyone else!
In Prince, through extensive interviews with his closest associates, author Steven Ivory reveals all of the above... and more!
