As boys, Frank and Ad grew up in Missouri on their father’s ranch. Becoming young men, they decide to go west in search of opportunity and adventure, with a desire to claim land and become ranchers on the frontier.

Unexpected troubles threaten to snare the boys before their journey even begins, but adversity leads to rewards; the experience serves them well on the path ahead. After an important life lesson, the brothers pass through the Independence step-off point, then head west across the Oregon Trail prairies, where their adventure truly begins.

Their path soon intertwines with that of a wounded young woman. After rescuing her, they assist her against a pair of dangerous highwaymen attempting to kill her. Their journey takes them through the untamed prairies, where they face perilous encounters. Banding with some unlikely allies, they face dangerous situations and gripping adventures, finally reaching an exciting conclusion.
