Since her best pals already admire Grace’s long, princesslike hair, Posey sees her as a threat rather than a potential friend. But after realizing how Grace feels when she is placed in the lowest reading group, Posey reaches out to her. Written with short words and sentences, this appealing story captures the emotional lives of first-graders with sensitivity, understanding, and humor.
