• Dr. Anthony McConnell is the Assistant Superintendent for Teaching, Learning,and Innovation at Deerfield Public Schools District 109 in Deerfield, IL. Anthony began his career as a high school teacher in Rock Island, Illinois. As principal of Kipling Elementary School in Deerfield, IL, Anthony led the school in construction of STEM learning spaces, implementation of 1:1 learning, and adoption of The Leader in Me process. In his final year as principal, Kipling was recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence. Anthony obtained his bachelor's degree in history and anthropology from Western Kentucky University, a master's degree in English language learning from Western Governors University, and his master's degree and doctorate in educational leadership from Western Illinois University. Anthony also serves as an adjunct professori n educational leadership at Concordia University in River Forest, IL. Anthony resides in Lake Villa, IL with his wife Cayce and their two children Aurelia and AJ.
