Octavo. Pp. [iv]407 [4]. For those who love language, a fascinating book, with many charts of comparative texts. With ten pages of "Opinions of the Press," it tells us how the book was publicized. The last, unnumbered, four pages bear facsimile signatures of eminent subscribers: Henry W. Longfellow, Millard Fillmore, etc., and many college presidents (Princeton, Harvard, Union, etc.). Laid in is a contemporary two-page longhand note on pronunciation. Lightly foxed throughout; one signature starting; pencil signatures on ffep. Spine sunned, otherwise VG, in publisher's ribbed cloth, stamped in gilt and blind.
