'Principles of Political Economy' is an incredibly important work on political economics, one of the most important on the subject published in the nineteenth century. In this work, Mill discusses the ways in which nations can benefit in a system of trade, and criticises the proposed ideas of communism and socialism. In contrast to other such textbooks of the time, Mill's work is noted for being written in an admirable style of prose, devoid of mathematical graphs and formulae.John Stuart Mill was a philosopher, political economist, and Member of Parliament. He's considered to be the most influential English philosopher of the nineteenth century. Two pages of adverts to the front and rear. This edition was edited by W. J. Ashley. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, generally smart, with marks to the rear board. Light rubbing to the joints, lighter to the front board. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Small chip to the fore edge of the front board. Front hinge is starting but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. The occasional pencil note to the margins. Very Good.
