Third edition. Bound in Half black calf. Miller Prize Binding awarded to Harold Cholmley Mansfield Austen by The Institute of Civil Engineers, 1901-1902. Austen was Superintendent Engineer of the Ministry of Munitions in Yorkshire and received the O.B.E. xiv, [ii], 406pp. Prize bookplate (black leather, gilt) to front pastedown. Illustrated with maps and plans, many of them folding and all present. Outer edges and endpapers marbled. Slight wear to boards, some occasional foxing o/w a fresh, clean and sound copy.
