1847 edition. Original black cloth covers show wear and rubbing to the spine edges. The corners are bumped. There are a few small chips to the cloth on the joints, with the front cover having a spit to the front joint at the top of the board. The first few text pages are loose within the book, but the text is complete. The front hinge was crudely repaired with glue by a long-ago owner. Some browning to the edges of the text. Includes two fold-out illustrated charts at the end of the book, one showing a water mill operation. An important and early book on hydraulic engineering.; 152 pages.
