Hardcover in Near-Fine condition small 8vo, pages: xxxiii,[i],531,blank,[iv ads]. Khaki green cloth with titles and decoration in black, tan end-papers, frontis and 157 figures (drawings and illustrations from photographs), index.7th edition (or printing; first edition published in 1909). Small, 1.5 cm cut at top edge of front board, else near-pristine copy which has always been protected in a heavy paper book-seller dust jacket. Prior owner name on second blank page (a 3rd generation farmer in the town of Ulysses, New York; his grandson (5th generation) was the last of the family to own the farm; in the family since 1835). Bookseller accession no.: 25762.
