Elaborately subtitled 'A Narrative of the Arrest, Trial, Conviction, Imprisonment, Treatment, Observations, Reflections, and Deliverance of Work, Burr, and Thompson, Who Suffered an Unjust and Cruel Imprisonment in Missouri Penitentiary, for Attempting to Aid Some Slaves to Liberty.' Alanson Work, James E. Burr, and Thompson were abolitionist students arrested in 1841 for attempting to liberate slaves, tried and found guilty of grand larceny, sentenced to a dozen years of hard labor, and pardoned by the governor of Missouri in 1845 and 1846. Work published several editions throughout the 1850s. 377 pages.

Orders usually ship within three business days. I generally pack books in boxes, with padding, and unless they're unusually bulky or heavy -- more than four pounds or so -- I won't ask for additional shipping costs. For domestic media-mail buyers, anyway. Prices for international and even priority shipping can get *insane*.
