Printed in the U.S.A. Date on the title page. Third Printing, stated. Editor's Foreword, Index of Biblical References; 190 pages. The red cloth is excellent, with just a touch of rubbing to the corner tips and spine ends; silver lettering is bright on the spine and upper board. The interior is fresh and bright, but not completely clean---NOTE that my philosopher-father left penciling on about a dozen pages. The original printed dust jacket is unclipped ($3.25) but has rubbing at the extremities, a few small tears, and sunning on the spine; all text is still legible. [Please see my five images of the actual book.] "There is hardly one of us who has not known what it is to be betrayed. We used to find the figure of Judas an enigma, but now we know him only too well. The air we breathe is so infested with mistrust that it almost chokes us. But where we have managed to pierce through this layer of mistrust we have discovered a confidence scarce dreamed of hitherto. The books listed here are, indeed, from my father's library, representing the depth and varied interests of a modern scholar's mind. Dr. Henry LeRoy Finch, professor emeritus of philosophy and a published author, trained in the classics (graduating top in his class at Yale), and went on to develop an appreciation for modern thinkers. It took over half-a-century to amass this collection of primarily-scholarly books with a broad range of subjects from Philosophy and Religion (with an emphasis on the interrelationships and intricacies of Eastern and Western Thinking) to scientific influences played out over the entire history of humankind, touching necessarily on Art, Anthropology, Archaeology, Literature, History of various Cultures, Psychology, Physics, and Spiritual Thought, including Theosophy and Mysticism. Many are esoteric philosophical works, out-of-print and unavailable elsewhere. A great number cover the interconnections of so many subjects as to defy classification. His was a working library: each volume was read and familiar, its whereabouts on a shelf always known, even when "double-parked." Though many of the books are esoteric, others will appeal to the general reader, often making an abstruse subject more approachable. (There are a hundred books on Einstein alone!) In addition, there are numerous paperbacks--classics, scholarly, first-published editions, several versions of the same book (in different translations), handy for packing along in a back pocket. Each of the volumes from the collection has a bookplate tipped in at the front and may have pencil marginalia--sparse or profuse. I have tried to reflect this in all the listings, but feel free to call and discuss further details of a book's condition. As it will take a long time to write up all the descriptions, some of you may wish to call and ask about a particular book you have been seeking. I have no store front; for sales by email (or telephone), please send check or money-order payable in US dollars. Credit card orders are welcome through Abebooks. Please contact me if you need more information (or scans) for any of the books. I try to describe each one carefully but if you feel it has been misrepresented, any book is returnable within a reasonable amount of time. Please notify me first. My policy is to charge only the actual shipping rates: Media mail is $3.20 anywhere within the United States for the first volume (it takes 7 to 10 days, sometimes a little longer); for Priority mail (two or three days usually), cost is $5.50 for one volume.

Usually, I ship books within 24 hours of receiving an order. Shipping costs are based on books weighing about 2 pounds (1Kg). If your book order is heavy or oversized, I may contact you to let you know extra shipping is required. Please note that new flat-rate-priority shipping boxes allow up to five books to be sent within the United States at just double the rate for a single volume. For most international sales, I ship books well protected in priority mailers.
