The Privilege of a Lifetime

Growing up in relative isolation in the 40’s, the author had the privilege of creating a lifetime of learning how to be true to her self. Her challenges, her struggles and her eventual triumph over the roadblocks presented to her over the years, are presented as lessons to be learned. With great courage and honesty, she explores the hand she was dealt and the resulting effects it had on her. Character traits such as shyness, timidity, people pleasing, and lack of self-confidence fall to the wayside as growth producing challenges are met, wrestled with, and overcome. Family secrets are exposed that lead to greater understanding and compassion for herself and others. Through her examples, the author offers hope and inspiration for overcoming whatever might be presented to others on their path toward fulfillment.

Lucille Olson is a graduate of Michigan State University with a Masters in Music education. Music has been the source of inner strength as well as financial support over the years. Both as a teacher and a performer, she has been an inspiration to others. She is the author and composer of over 200 inspirational songs, that come straight from the heart. Several have been published by the Association of Unity Churches and are sung in Unity churches worldwide. Her journey from extreme poverty and dysfunction, to a life rich in contentment and joy brings a message of hope to others.
