"Fritz London's 1948 paper predicting that a spinning superconductor would develop a magnetic moment. It proposed that superconductivity is a condensed state in momentum space, resulting in long-range order of the momentum vector in ordinary space. It suggested the phenomenological London equations reflect a macroscopic quantum state. London predicted that a spinning superconductor would generate a magnetic dipole (the London Moment), with a field proportional to the angular velocity, marking a key, testable consequence of the theory. While reinforcing the London equations, the paper aimed to bridge the gap toward a future molecular/microscopic theory by focusing on the coherence of a quantum state."--Wikipedia
