The author’s enlightenment is the realisation that problems exist in everyday life, be it personal or work related, and each problem presents itself as a treasure of opportunity. Instead of sulking over a problem, or cursing one’s fate, and trying to win sympathies as a victim, it is better to develop critical thinking and analytical skills for problem solving and enjoy finding solutions to problems. The major effort in problem solving goes in identifying and defining the problem correctly based on observation, facts and data, and avoiding the temptation to formulate the problem on perceptions or hearsay. The book aims at triggering the thought process and providing exposure to problem-solving tools currently in use.
