Synopsis
These proceedings from the 9th World Congress on Pain held August 22-27, 1999, in Vienna, Austria, relate to the Congress theme "Pain: from Molecule to Mind" and offer a comprehensive overview of the status of pain science and medicine today. About the Author
Professor Marshall Devor, PhD (Israel) is the Chair of the Department of Cell and Developmental Biology at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. He also serves on the Executive Board of the European Pain School.
Michael C. Rowbotham, MD, is Scientific Director at California Pacific Medical Center Research Institute, and Adjunct Professor of Neurology and Anesthesia at University of California, San Francisco, School of Medicine.
Zsuszanna Wiesenfeld-Hallin, PhD, a Professor of Neurophysiology at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden. She is also currently a member of the board at the Center for Gender-Related Medicine at the Karolinska Institute.
