Add to basket14.5 x 9 cm. [29 leaves]. Boards in accordian style binding. No date, crica [1940-1960]. Progressive proof prints showing the comulative sequence of color application in a wood blcok printing process on a scene with mountain, plants, and river. Only text is the printed inside the front cover and reads as follows: "The first page shows the outline block -which may be black or in a color. Of the following pages, the right side shows each successive single block. Shading of one color or different colors require separate printings, determining the kind of the print. The left side shows the cumulative effect after each step in the printing." "Perfect register - that is, exact placing of each color in its proper space is secured by two guide marks raised on each block, usually on one corner and in the middle of an adjoining side. The paper is fitted into the corner thus formed and then lowered for printing. All our blocks are cut from cherry-wood, and the paper, though of different grades, is made of the fibres taken from the Kozo, or species of paper mulberry, to which not a bit of pulp is mixed and is all handmade."
