About the Author

Born and raise on the Westside of Chicago, IL, Tarvies D. Smith, Sr had to learn endurance and perseverance after the death of hisparents at age eleven. Tarvies attended Eastern Illinois University (EIU) where he obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, and latercompleted his Master's Degree in Political Science / Public Administration. Tarvies obtained his second Master's Degree from Concordia University in School Counseling. Tarvies received Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior and completed his ministerial training at Living Word Christain Center, where he is a current member under the leadership of Dr. Bill Winston. Tarvies is the founder and president of Teen-Train, Inc., along with his lovely wife Tannita.
