Printed proclamation by Massachusetts Governor Levi Lincoln declaring a public day of Thanksgiving for November 30, 1826. Good to very good condition, with light offsetting and tears along folds mended. Text is in two columns. The proclamation is dated October 18, 1826. The early American republic had many such proclamations of Thanksgiving issued for dates in November. The earliest in Massachusetts had been issued by Governor Caleb Strong in 1813.
