The Prodigy

In the final days of the German Democratic Republic, as hundreds of thousands flee the country and mass demonstrations grow, a high ranking Stasi officer discovers the leadership of State Security intends to kidnap his two-year old son for unknown reasons. Is it because of the boy's extraordinary intelligence and does the leadership know something about the source of that gift which the parents do not? Amid the chaos of a disintegrating state, and the overshadowing question of whether the child's intelligence has a natural or sinister origin, the parents desperately attempt to flee with their young son while the Stasi leadership invokes the entire power of the state to prevent them.
