This textbook results from the author's experience of teaching more than 40 years. The methods described in the book have been taught and applied by the students. Examples of concept development projects of products and services carried out by the students are described, many of them revealing great creativity.

About the Author

Ant�nio Augusto FERNANDES graduated in Mechanical Engineering at Faculty of Engineering, University of Porto, and did his M.Sc. and Ph.D. at Cranfield University, UK. Ant�nio Augusto Fernandes is Professor Emeritus of University of Porto. He was President of the Mechanical Engineering Chapter of the Engineers Portuguese Society and his current research interests are focused on new product and service development and innovation management and women health bioengineering.
