Production Processes of Renewable Aviation Fuel: Present Technologies and Future Trends presents the available production processes for renewable aviation fuel, including the application of intensification and energy integration strategies. Despite biofuels have gained a lot of interest in the last years, renewable aviation fuel is one of the less studied. In the last ten years, there has been an incredible growth in the number of patents and articles related with its production processes. Several transformation pathways have been proposed, and new ones have been outlined. The book contains the main information about the production processes of renewable aviation fuel, considering international standards, available technologies, and recent scientific contributions. It also outlines the motivation for the development of renewable aviation fuel, and its main processing pathways from the different renewable raw materials. Dr. Claudia Gutiérrez-Antonio is Professor at Engineering Faculty, Autonomous University of Querétaro, also she is National Researcher Level 2 of the National System of Researchers. Prof. Gutiérrez obtained her PhD in Chemical Engineering from the Instituto Tecnológico de Celaya. She is an author of more than 60 scientific articles, 31 book chapters, 51 dissemination articles, and three books. Prof. Gutiérrez is founder professor and Coordinator of the Master of Science in Sustainable Technologies. She is also founder and coordinator of the Research Group Sustainable Bioproducts Production Processes, which is member of Ibero-American Network of Biomass and Bioenergy Technologies. She was distinguished along with 10 researchers worldwide by Elsevier through the Chemical Engineering and Processing: Process Intensification Journal for her career in the intensification of sustainable aviation fuel production processes, as well as by Chemical Engineering Nature by inviting her to write an opinion piece along with 39 leading researchers worldwide as part of the first anniversary issue.

Araceli Guadalupe Romero-Izquierdo got her Master degree in the Chemical Engineering Department in the Universidad de Guanajuato in Mexico in 2015. He stayed as scholar researcher at Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro and Centro de Investigación Científica de Yucatán in 2014 and 2017, respectively. Currently, he is PhD student at Universidad de Guanajuato, under the direction of Profrs. Claudia Gutiérrez-Antonio, Fernando Israel Gómez-Castro and Salvador Hernández. Her research interest is in the area of biorefineries design, considering as main process the production of renewable aviation fuel. She has published 4 articles in indexed journals.

Dr. Fernando Israel Gómez-Castro got his Master and Ph.D. degrees in Universidad de Guanajuato (2007) and Instituto Tecnológico de Celaya (2010), respectively. He stayed as scholar researcher at Texas A&M University. Currently, he is professor-researcher at Universidad de Guanajuato and he is member of the National Research System of Mexico. His research interest is in the area of control studies and optimization of biofuel production processes, including renewable aviation fuel. He has published 35 papers, 15 book chapters and 2 books.

Dr. Salvador Hernández got his Master and Ph.D. degrees in Instituto Tecnológico de Celaya in 1993 and 1998, respectively. He stayed as scholar researcher at University of Delaware. Currently, he is professor-researcher at Universidad de Guanajuato and he is member of the National Research System of Mexico. His research interest is in the area of design an intensification of biofuels production processes, including renewable aviation fuel. He has published more than 80 papers and 7 book chapters.
