Amanda Dunn, EdD, currently serves as an academic coordinator in the north Houston, Texas, area. She has over twenty years of experience teaching fine arts, special populations, and English in addition to leading the Professional Learning Communities (PLC) at Work process and overseeing all academic programs at the junior high level. Dr. Dunn is passionate about effective collaboration within PLCs driven by efficient systems and conflict management.
Throughout her career, Dr. Dunn has been named teacher of the year multiple times and in different teaching roles. She continues to serve on state-level committees, including the TELPAS review committee and STAAR passage review committee. During her time as a dance educator and director, Dr. Dunn served as the parliamentarian and treasurer for the Texas Dance Educators’ Association.
Dr. Dunn has earned degrees from Texas A&M University, LeTourneau University, and Sam Houston State University. Most recently, she earned her doctorate in organizational leadership from Abilene Christian University. She also earned a certificate in conflict management and is a trained mediator in the state of Texas.
Dr. Dunn is passionate about systems within the PLC process that allow teachers, teacher leaders, and administrators to create environments and conditions conducive to high levels of learning and engagement for all students and adults.
