A very scarce book celebrating the Britain's automobile industry, containing numerous colour advertisements and articles centered around the 1948 British International Motor Show. 1949 Programmes: Presenting Britain's Automobile Production to the World, a very scarce volume of advertisements from the 1948 British International Motor Show in preparation for the 1949 show. Published by the International Motor Transport Exhibition in association with Iliffe and Sons.In the publisher's original red cloth. Contains numerous contemporary advertisements from different companies throughout, over eighty of which are in colour.The British International Motor Show was not only a significant fair in the automobile industry, but was also a display of how British cars were seen as the best in the world during 1948-1949. The first show to be held at Earl's Court in London, the 1948 show contained classics such as the Morris Minor. There are articles throughout which display a postwar positivity. In the publisher's original red cloth. Externally, smart, with slight fading to the spine and joints. A couple of small marks to spine, and minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine, and to the extremities. End papers are bright and clean. Internally, firmly bound, with minor signs of wear to hinge of last advertisement leaf between September and October 1948. Pages are bright and clean, with minor signs of age toning. Very Good Indeed.
