Review

Modelling with salt dough is a very popular and inexpensive hobby. Fairytale Doughcraft shows how to make a wide range of salt dough models from the fantasy world of Fairy Tales. No special, expensive ingredients are necessary for salt dough modelling: salt, flour, and water are all that's needed. After baking the models in the oven and painting them with water-based acrylic paints, they are finished with a coat of varnish. This activity can be enjoyed by the whole family. Excellent results can be obtained even by complete beginners. Full instructions and hints on tools and techniques are given, with over 60 items illustrated so that the models are really easy to make. Figures from many different tales are included: Pierrot, Columbine and Harlequin; the Emperor's New Clothes; Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs; Thumbelina; Trolls; among others. Unique, inexpensive, and fun! -- Midwest Book Review
