Project Michelson was a U.S. government sponsored project focusing on understanding and developing the theory of startegic deterrence. The project had 3 objectives: 1. Develope a set of political and psychological criteria for evaluating future deterrence stategies; 2. To reconceptualize and broaden the notion of deterrence to make it more meaningful in terms of relevant data on human behavior; and 3. To synthesize and integrate various studies to assist with policy decisions. This was a part of ther nuclear deterrence strategies during the Cold War era. A good copy in paper wrapers, stapled.
