In this cluster, Max, Cat, Ant and Tiger have to face the evil Dr X in a showdown - find out what happens in the two part adventure Revenge of the X-bots! and The X-machine. Then read The Deep - an action-packed adventure story set on board a subterranean research centre. Also, find out more about some real life escapes in the two non fiction books, Escaping Slavery and Escape from Colditz. Each book comes with notes for parents that highlight tricky words or concepts in the books, prompt questions and suggest a range of follow-up activities. The Great Escapes Guided Reading Notes provide step-by-step guided reading support for each book in the Great Escapes cluster, together with guidance about comprehension, assessment for learning and vocabulary enrichment.
