Promesse de l Image (la)

Far from clichés and generally accepted ideas, the French architectural practice of Alain Moatti and Henri Rivière has for almost ten years been creating an oeuvre where in buildings appeal to a broad public, with finished buildings that are identical to their original sketches. It is this fidelity, which is at the same time their intimate commitment, that forms the image in its promise. Intriguing as they are delicate, some 23 of the architects designs are presented here, from realised projects for the Cité Internationale de la Dentelle et de la Mode in Calais, a Boutique for Yves Saint Laurent, Paris and the Grande Halle, Arles to numerous competition entries and yet to be realised projects. All works and projects are accompanied by photographs, computer models, technical drawings, alongside an interview with the architects.
