• Depression

• Burn-Out
• Lack of purpose

Do you feel like none of your go-to methods of solving your problems are helping at all? Author John Carrier struggled with all of this, until he found out when old habits stop working, when old assumptions no longer ring true, it’s time to look past the old... to the ancient. And that’s when everything changed. John discovered Seven Gifts--ancient wisdom and current practices of the Jewish people that promote a life of meaning, joy, personal growth, and deeper human connection--available to everyone, everywhere, regardless of where you're coming from. The Seven Gifts have sustained the most resilient, adaptable, and long-enduring people on earth for thousands of years, but they were never meant to be kept a secret, and now John shares them with you. Through illumination of an ancient tradition, clear action steps that are practical for the 21st Century, and personal stories that are both humorous and heartbreaking, you will discover how to overcome your crisis, find your purpose, and live a more resilient and meaningful life. All you have to do: Start unwrapping your Gifts today! “John Carrier has produced a wise, honest, compassionate, and genuinely useful book which unlocks the wisdom of one tradition for people who follow any tradition, many traditions or no tradition at all. He offers us both an ancient map, and a contemporary compass, not to mention warm companionship and wise encouragement, for discovering and living into our own promised lives. His approach is hopeful, but never naive. He knows that it takes a bit of effort to fulfill the promise of our lives, and offers the tools to do that work with meaning, purpose, and genuine joy.” Rabbi Brad Hirschfield, author of You Don’t Have to Be Wrong for Me to Be Right: Finding Faith Without Fanaticism John Carrier is an ordained rabbi living, leading, teaching, and thriving in Burbank, California. John Carrier found the Promised Life after a long journey from the Deep South to sunny Southern California, living all over the USA and in Israel at points in between. Born to three generations of Southern Baptist ministers but destined for another path, John was ordained as a Rabbi by the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies at American Jewish University in Los Angeles, California. Before seminary, John spent eleven years consulting in financial analysis, marketing, and information systems in Washington, DC, Knoxville, and Minneapolis, in industries ranging from banking and legal services to manufacturing and microchip design. John's bread and butter in the world of commerce was translating between the Accounting Department and the IT Department, which turns out was a useful experience in translating the Torah for seekers of all spiritual backgrounds, or of no background at all. Today John teaches about Judaism on YouTube and serves Jewish families and individuals in Burbank, California, as well as the broader community through his work with international service clubs, local interfaith partnerships, and CLAL-The National Jewish Center for Learning and Leadership, where he is a Rabbis Without Borders Fellow. John enjoys rollercoasters, scary movies, fine dining, extreme cooking, running marathons, stepping on Legos, and marveling and the genius in his own family: his wife and two young daughters at home, and his two grown sons from afar, mostly through text messages.
