Prophecies of Christ in the Old Testament Volume 2: A Comprehensive Reference Guide from Judges Through Psalms

The Old Testament does not stop pointing to Christ after the books of Moses.

From the chaos of Judges to the throne of David, from the quiet redemption of Ruth to the suffering and glory sung in the Psalms, Scripture continues building its witness to the coming Messiah.

Prophecies of Christ in the Old Testament Volume 2 traces that witness from Judges through Psalms, gathering 334 entries that show how these books reveal Jesus Christ through deliverers, redeemers, kings, covenants, divine appearances, sufferings, temple patterns, resurrection hope, and messianic songs.

In these pages, the need for the true King becomes impossible to miss. Israel’s judges deliver only for a time. Ruth points to the grace of the kinsman-redeemer. David shows the pattern of the rejected and anointed king. The Davidic covenant promises a throne and kingdom that will endure forever. Job longs for a living Redeemer. And the Psalms rise into one of the richest portraits of Christ in all the Old Testament: the Son of God, the suffering Messiah, the pierced and mocked righteous One, the risen Holy One, the ascended King, the eternal Priest, and the Lord seated at God’s right hand.

Inside, readers will find entries on the Angel of the LORD, Samson as a type of Christ, Boaz the kinsman-redeemer, David’s rejection and reign, the covenant with David, Solomon’s temple, the preserved royal line, Job’s Redeemer, Psalm 2, Psalm 16, Psalm 22, Psalm 45, Psalm 69, Psalm 110, the rejected Stone, and more.

Each entry is concise, organized, and designed for quick reference while still showing how the passage contributes to the Bible’s unfolding testimony of the Messiah.

Volume 2 shows that Christ is not hidden in a few scattered predictions. He is woven through the history, songs, sufferings, hopes, and kingdom promises of the Old Testament.

The Deliverer, Redeemer, King, Priest, and Lord promised in these books is Jesus Christ.
