Prophecies of Christ in the Old Testament Volume 3: A Comprehensive Reference Guide from Proverbs Through Malachi

The Old Testament reaches its prophetic climax in the final books from Proverbs through Malachi.

What began in Genesis as promise and pattern now becomes increasingly clear through wisdom, covenant hope, kingdom expectation, suffering, restoration, and direct prophetic announcement.

Prophecies of Christ in the Old Testament Volume 3 traces the Christological witness from Proverbs through Malachi, gathering 333 entries that show how these books point forward to Jesus Christ through wisdom themes, bridal imagery, Servant songs, kingdom promises, new covenant hope, resurrection expectation, divine appearances, and prophetic announcements.

In these pages, the Messiah is revealed with remarkable depth and detail. Proverbs points to Christ as the wisdom of God. Song of Solomon gives the bridal pattern of the beloved Bridegroom. Isaiah announces the virgin-born Immanuel, the Child given, the Branch from Jesse, and the Suffering Servant wounded for transgressions. Jeremiah promises the righteous Branch and the new covenant. Ezekiel speaks of the Good Shepherd, the new heart, and the Spirit within. Daniel reveals the Son of Man, Messiah the Prince, and the kingdom that will never be destroyed. The Minor Prophets name Bethlehem, proclaim the just living by faith, reveal the pierced One, show the King riding on a donkey, and close with the messenger who prepares the way before the Lord.

Inside, readers will find entries on Isaiah 7, Isaiah 9, Isaiah 11, Isaiah 53, Jeremiah 31, Ezekiel 34, Daniel 7, Daniel 9, Hosea 11, Joel 2, Jonah’s sign, Micah 5, Habakkuk 2, Zechariah 9, Zechariah 12, Malachi 3, and more.

Each entry is concise, organized, and designed for quick reference while still showing how the passage contributes to the Bible’s unfolding testimony of the Messiah.

Volume 3 brings the series to its conclusion by showing that the Old Testament does not end with an unfinished hope. It ends with expectation.

The promised Christ is coming.
