The Protector of the Portal (Explorers)

When her little brother Gip touches the magic portal in the cave (which she *told* him was a very bad idea) and gets sucked into another world, 12.67-year-old Soryn has no choice but to dive in after him.

On the other side, Gip isn't the only one who needs rescuing. The Hub that connects all the portals is in peril, and Soryn's Science might be the only hope for solving the puzzle.

With the "help" of an annoying girl and her flying cat, Soryn finds out that saving the day with Science is the easy part. Friendships... are a lot more complicated.

Melissa J. Roche enjoys writing books with anyone who has an imagination, reading books with a (flightless) cat on her lap, and speculating about Science with the Soryns in her life.

Ressa Draco has been practicing martial arts ever since she discovered her arms, about 10 years ago now. When she's not slicing grass in the backyard with sticks, she loves to read all the books and defend all the animals.

Gabriel M. James has gone on many adventures in the last 12 years, so he's quite good at it. Away from the helm, he's a runner, mathematician & musician, fond of fuzzy things, especially of the purring variety.
