Dr. Cassia Hayes has spent months trying, and failing, to create a vaccine for a novel pathogen at biotech giant Baker and Pryor. Her research is going nowhere, and the only bright spot in her day is her ongoing flirtationship with the janitor, Elias Correa.

But when the pathogen escapes containment and the facility erupts into chaos, Cassia learns two things very quickly:

The virus is more dangerous than she's been led to believe.

Elias is not a janitor.

He's armed, dangerous, and the only person standing between her and orders that she doesn't understand. They're fugitives, running from who or whatever caused the outbreak, and Cassia is the only one who can stop it.

She just has to survive long enough to finish the vaccine... and figure out why Elias saved her.
