Proud Tree

This timeless tale tells children the story of the crucifixion from the viewpoint of Rex, the tree that became the cross Jesus carried to Calvary. It also teaches them a valuable lesson in humility and love while helping them understand the power of Jesus' love and the importance of his sacrifice. Illustrations from the award-winning animated Liguori video are featured as black and white line drawings that children can color.

A married homemaker with two grown children and two grandchildren, Luane Roche has worked as an elementary-school teacher's aide and teacher. She has taught fourth- and fifth-grade catechism classes and served as president of her parish's religious-education staff. A member of the Secular Order of Discalced Carmelites, she lives in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. Luan Roche, ama de casa, esposa, madre de dos hijos y abuela de dos nietos, se ha desempeñado como maestra de educación primaria. Ha dado clases de catecismo a niños de 4° y 5° año, además de haber sido presidenta del consejo de educación religiosa en su parroquia. Forma parte también de la orden secular de las carmelitas descalzas y vive en Hoffman, Illinois.
