A married homemaker with two grown children and two grandchildren, Luane Roche has worked as an elementary-school teacher's aide and teacher. She has taught fourth- and fifth-grade catechism classes and served as president of her parish's religious-education staff. A member of the Secular Order of Discalced Carmelites, she lives in Hoffman Estates, Illinois.
