Reviews
A TV-production staffer at ABC News Closeup and The Cosby Show, the author describes herself as "a Springsteen fan for nearly 12 years" and thanks 58 people, including "roommates past and present," for their help on this trivia quiz book. The arcana include "How did Bruce know who John Hammond was?" and "What is the only song title with a hyphen?" Formats range from puzzles and match-up quizzes to fill-in-the-blanks and various Q & A categories. The book is illustrated with two-dozen photos (not seen by PW, but, unfortunately, Mayer's enthusiastic effort hardly compares with the exhaustive wealth of data compiled by Patrick Humphries and Chris Hunt for Bruce Springsteen: Blinded by the Light, an encyclopedic tome published last year that makes these 96 pages seem superfluous.
