Psychology in Action, Instructor's Free Copy Huffman, Karen; Vernoy, Mark; Williams, Barbara and Vernoy, Judith

This complete, student-oriented and scientifically sound teaching tool is exquisitely designed and illustrated. Providing a perfectly balanced approach that synthesizes the five major perspectives in psychology--psychoanalytic, behavioristic, cognitive, humanistic and psychobiological--it introduces students to psychology in a straightforward fashion, showing how theories and approaches are interrelated. The authors, all experienced teachers, continue to employ the ``SQ3R'' method of the original text: chapters begin with a survey/outline of the major topics in the chapter; questions are posed throughout the chapter; reading, recitation and review are encouraged and emphasized. Stressing scientific methods and critical thinking, the text is further enlivened by practical applications that make psychology relevant to students and by ``hot topics'' that make it fascinating. Revisions reflect the considerable new research and data that have accumulated since publication of the last edition.
