Orig. published in 1886, this is the "only authorized English adaptation of the last German edition (the 12th) revised by [the author]" & significantly enlarged to include 238 case histories of human sexual aberration & "perversion.'' To his credit, Krafft-Ebing revised his early notion of homosexuality as "disease or degeneration" to acknowledge in his later years that it represented a "biological anomaly.'' A seminal work in the history of sexology! First appearing in 1939, this is the 1947 printing. In 626 pages with Index, Preface by the Author & by the Publishers, & Introduction by Victor Robinson, M.D. Hardcover with navy blue cloth covered boards is very clean, binding straight & strong, pages modestly tanned (heavier around edges) commensurate with age & paper quality. Former owner's first name inside front cover, but text is clean & unmarked; NO other writing/underlining/highlighting; NOT ex-lib. FLAWS: Big chunk (.5" x 1.25") out of top spine, causing condition downgrade to only Fair. Bumped corners, mild rubbing to extremities. NO DJ.
