In this study, the public libraries in Turkey and Bulgaria, which have experienced the transition process to information society, have been comparatively discussed under the focus of information society. The main purpose of the study is to find out the current situation of the public libraries in Turkey and Bulgaria- based on information society- and the opinions of librarians and library managers in these libraries and to present the guiding suggestions to the public libraries in Turkey and Bulgaria in the light of the obtained data.
