Successful delivery of public policy is increasingly dependent upon the effectiveness of information technology and systems. Thanos Papadopoulos is a Lecturer in Knowledge and Information Systems Management, at the School of Management, University of Southampton, UK. He obtained his PhD from Warwick Business School, University of Warwick, UK. He also obtained his diploma (Dipl-Eng - Equivalent to MEng) in computer engineering and informatics from the School of Engineering of Patras University, Greece and his MSc in Information Systems from the Department of Informatics of the Athens University of Economics and Business, Greece. His research interests include innovation and change in public services, business transformation and networks and Information Systems' assessment strategies. He has been awarded the Best Paper Award in the 2007 International Conference on the Management of Healthcare and Medical Technology. He has published more than 20 papers in peer-reviewed journals and international conferences.
Panagiotis Kanellis is currently an Executive Director with Ernst & Young in Athens, Greece. Previous to that he held senior positions both in the private and public sectors where he led large transformational programmes. He was educated at Western International University in Business Administration (BSc), at the University of Ulster in Computing and Information Systems (Post-Graduate Diploma) and at Brunel University in Data Communication Systems (MSc) and Information Systems (PhD). He has taught at the Athens University of Economics and Business and is a Research Associate in the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications at the University of Athens. He has published more than 60 papers in peer-reviewed journals and international conferences. He is Fellow of the British Computer Society and a Chartered Information Technology Professional (FBCS CITP), a Chartered Engineer (CEng), a Chartered Scientist (CSci) and a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).
