Academic experience

Anne-Wil is Associate Dean Research and Professor in International Management at the University of Melbourne, Australia. Before joining Melbourne, she worked at the University of Bradford (UK), Maastricht University, the University of Tilburg, and the Open University (all in the Netherlands, her country-of-origin).

She has a PhD in International Management from the University of Bradford, an MA in Business Administration & International Management from Maastricht University, and a BA in Business & Languages from the Hogeschool Enschede.

Research interests

Anne-Wil's research interests include international HRM, expatriate management, HQ-subsidiary relationships, cross-cultural management, transfer of HRM practices, the role of language in international business, the international research process, and the quality and impact of academic research.

In addition to her substantive research areas, Anne-Wil also has a keen interest in issues relating to journal quality and research performance metrics. In this context she is the editor of the Journal Quality List and the provider of Publish or Perish, a software program that retrieves and analyses academic citations.
