Publishing in China: An Essential Guide

This is the first book providing an in-depth analysis of the publishing industry in China. It is also the first book of its kind written for an international audience. The author gives a comprehensive and objective commentary on the current situation and trends of the Chinese publishing industry in the WTO era. The integration process of the Chinese publishing market with those of Taiwan and Hong Kong, and the entry of foreign investments are also addressed in this book. Seventy years ago, world-renowned author Pearl S. Buck presented the Chinese people to the western world by introducing Lin Yutang’s My Country and My People. In the same way that Lin Yutang tried to bridge the cultural gap between the East and West with his philosophies and writings, Thomson Learning hopes to offer the western world a window into the modern Chinese publishing industry through this book, Publishing in China.
