About the Author
Growing up in Pennsylvania, Dawn Watkins saw horses still used occasionally for logging, and she has long admired the big horses and their work. She often attended horse pulls, preferring that entertainment to any other offered at county fairs and festivals. She drew on one particularly thrilling event to write the conclusion for this book.
Miss Watkins currently teaches writing at Bob Jones University and writes textbooks at Bob Jones University Press. She is the author of several stories and books for children and recently, a two-volume historical novel for teens.
