From the Pulpit and the Pen: Sermons and Writings

Rees Bryant shares over sixty years of ministry and missions experience in From the Pulpit and the Pen, a collection of papers on Bible study and Christianity as well as a personal narrative and challenge.

Bryant’s warmth and approachability make this guide to Christian life as comforting and accessible as it is encouraging and uplifting. Jesus and his incarnation, his teachings, death on the cross, burial, resurrection, ascension into heaven, and promise to return have strengthened and empowered Christians for centuries—through life’s inevitable struggles, fears, and doubts.

Bryant fearlessly probes into the biggest questions of Christianity addressing darker topics, such as why there is suffering in the world and how a good and omnipotent God can permit evil. He also tackles difficult ideas, such as the directive for Christians to be united, considers the essential message and core of Christianity, and covers illuminating subjects that uplift and inspire, challenging readers to thoughtfully consider and take up the mantle of belief.

Find ample resources to grapple with many of Christianity’s puzzles and conundrums in these thoughtful and instructive sermons and papers.

Rees Bryant began preaching over sixty years ago, and he has been doing so ever since. As a Fuller Theological Seminary graduate, he has advanced degrees in world mission and missiology. Having begun his professional career in America, he soon received a call to Nigeria, where he helped to establish the Nigerian Christian Hospital. This led to the creation of a support foundation as well.

His Christian religious knowledge helped him as a teacher in Nigerian public schools, and he has also spent time ministering in Crimea, Kenya, Mexico, and Ukraine.

Since returning to the United States, he has served in various ministerial and educational capacities. His worldwide experience in ministry and missions is evident in his new book From the Pulpit and the Pen, a collection of sermons and papers.

Bryant resides in Kissimmee, Florida. He and his wife Patti have been married for sixty-three years and have four grown children, ten grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
