Hard covers, no dust jackets, in very good condition for their age. Twenty five volumes consisting of: Railway Book, On the Continong, At the Seaside, Mr.Punch Afloat, In the Highlands, In the Hunting Field, Book of Love, At the Play, Country Life, After Dinner Stories, Mr Punch in Bohemia, With Rod & Gun, Life in London, Book of Sports, Mr. Punch At Home, In Wig & Gown, Mr Punch on Tour, Mr. Punch Awheel, Golf Stories, Irish Humour, Mr Punch in Society, With the Children, Scottish Humour, Cockney Humour, and, On the Warpath. Each volume has numerous illustrations throughout, with frontispiece plus copious b/w plates within. Undated, thought to be circa 1910. Red cloth boards show title and Punch image in gilt on front board; spine detail, including volume number, and pageblock head also gilded. Overall, light shelf and handling for age, including minor wear and light blemishes to boards, occasional cocked spines, and tanning to pageblock face and foot, this leading lightly onto page edges. Volume 12, 'With Rod & Gun' shows more wear, including bumped corners, and a small tear to rear board, resulting in the wrinkling of the cloth. Foxing present on pastedowns and endpapers of all volumes. Within, pages are firmly bound, and content is bright and unmarked, illustrations sharp. A fine looking collection.
