Item description from seller

Thomas J.M. Schopf, editor. San Francisco: Freeman, Cooper & Co., (1972), pages 82-115, illustrated. Original paper boards, lettered in silver, with the original plain tissue dust jacket. Along with introducing this new theory for the first time, the authors criticize the longtime "dogma" of gradual change of phyletic characters resulting in a new species. Thomas Kuhn's 1952 "The Structure of Scientific Revolutions" is used to support the dogma argument. Indeed, this "revolutionary" idea followed Kuhn's pattern of long-time controversy. With the bookplate of geologist Hugh H. Doney. A Fine volume in a crease tissue jacket. Cited 3,617 times (ResearchGate, taken 9/6/2024).
