The Puppet Throne: An Adventure Fantasy Begins (Puppet Throne Trilogy)

The puppet breaks her strings. But her empire is already burning.

For ten years, Queen Zeren of Izakura has been little more than a puppet on her own throne. Bound by the dark magic of the Tricilium—her shadowy council of three—Zeren’s rule is a carefully curated illusion, her choices stolen, her voice silenced. But to the continent beyond the capital, she is a cruel and heartless sovereign.

When Zeren’s maid uncovers a chilling truth, she is determined to save the mistress who is the only family she has. With the reluctant help of the crown prince of Athora, they escape their cage. As they venture into the lands ravaged under the current reign, they discover the depth of the people’s suffering—and their hatred for the queen.

With the Tricilium hunting them, rebellion stirring in the shadows, and their unexpected mentor’s motives shrouded in mystery, staying alive becomes the greatest challenge. Yet their flight for freedom may be the spark that ignites a land—or consumes it entirely.

The Puppet Throne is set in the same world as Shields of Seiflands, but this trilogy stands on its own.
